چکیده
Intravesical prostatic protrusion (IPP) can predict disease progression and development of complications in benign hyperplasia (BPH). The aim was to determine if IPP at initial evaluation need for surgical therapy BPH patients. A retrospective study patients ESUT Teaching Hospital, Enugu. Patients were involved a previous prospective which they had abdominal ultrasonography measurement prostate volume (TPV). measured millimeter divided into < 10 mm ≥ mm. clinicians blinded about the patients’ while making decision therapy. After least 24-month follow up period, biodata, IPP, TPV, IPSS given/recommended retrieved analyzed. odds ratio having/awaiting surgery cut-off millimeters calculated. P 0.05 considered significant. One hundred records reviewed. Forty-four (44%) still on medical therapy, 20 (20%) awaiting 36 (36%) prostatectomy. Eight (19.05%) 42 with or recommended 48 (82.76%) 58 (p=0.000). There statistically significant odd when 10mm (OR=20.40, 95% CI [7.30,57.04]). is predictor needing

Relationship between Intravesical Prostatic Protrusion and Postoperative Outcomes in Patients with Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia
PURPOSE To evaluate the significance of intravesical prostatic protrusion (IPP) for predicting postoperative outcomes in patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia. MATERIALS AND METHODS A total of 177 patients with a possible follow-up of at least 6 months who were treated with transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP) were analyzed. We divided the patients into two groups on the basis ...

Objective: To investigate the impact of intravesical prostatic protrusion and pathological type on TURP for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). Methods: Totally 158 cases with BPH were enrolled, then divided into the IPP significant group (n=70) and IPP non-significant group (n=88) according to the degree of intravesical prostatic protrusion (IPP), and patients were also divided into the glandu...

The objectives of this study were to determine and compare the correlation of intravesical prostatic protrusion (IPP) and prostate volume (PV) with bladder outlet obstruction (BOO). This study was conducted in the department of urology, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU), Dhaka, Bangladesh, between July 2009 to September 2010. Fifty benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) patients w...

Thirty cases of benign prostatic hyperplasia and 30 cases of prostatic adenocarcinoma were selected and stained by AgNOR (argyrophilic staining of the nucleolar organizer region) method. Specimens were obtained by either prostatectomy (open!TIJR) or needle biopsy of the prostate. In this study, the sections of prostatic adenocarcinoma were reviewed. 6 cases were diagnosed as well-differen...
